Class 3 Review Committee
The Class 3 Review Committee reviews all Tripoli member Class 3 flight submissions requiring FAA AST approval, as well as any flight projected to exceed 100,000 feet, regardless of the total impulse involved.
Contests and Records Committee
The Contests and Records Committee maintains rules, procedures, and verification standards for Tripoli flight records. The committee oversees submissions and accuracy to ensure achievements are properly reviewed and documented.
Election Committee
The Election Committee solicits candidates and manages the annual election process for the Board of Directors. It oversees ballot handling and voting integrity, and is composed of three voting members who are not directors or nominees.
Gates Scholarship Committee
The Gates Scholarship Committee administers the annual scholarship process, including application review, selection of recipients, and coordination of awards that support educational opportunities for eligible Tripoli-affiliated students.
Insurance Committee
The Insurance Committee manages Tripoli’s insurance programs, including the Member Public Liability policy and other coverage approved by the Board of Directors, helping ensure appropriate protection for members and organizational activities.
IT Committee
The IT Committee is responsible for maintaining and improving Tripoli’s technology systems, online platforms, and digital infrastructure to support reliable communication, operations, and services for members and organizational functions.
Lifetime Membership Committee
The Lifetime Membership Committee reviews nominations and selects deserving Tripoli members to receive Lifetime Membership recognition, honoring individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the organization and the rocketry community.
Motor Testing Committee
The Tripoli Motor Testing Committee conducts testing and certification of hobby rocket motors. The committee verifies performance, safety, and compliance to ensure reliable standards for commercially available and research motors.
Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee supports educational rocketry programs and competitions, promoting safe Tripoli practices and encouraging participation in rocketry activities that strengthen awareness, learning, and responsible involvement in the hobby.
Publications Committee
The Publications Committee produces the association’s official newsletter, prepares technical and research reports, and develops educational and training materials, along with other documents authorized by the Board of Directors for the benefit of members.
Research Committee
The Research Committee supports member innovation in propulsion, payloads, electronics, recovery systems, and airframe design. The committee encourages responsible experimentation and development of new materials, methods, and technologies in high power rocketry.
Technical Advisory Panel
The Technical Advisory Panel oversees Level 3 certification attempts, providing guidance and review for complex high-power projects. The panel works with members and Prefects to ensure that advanced flights are properly evaluated, documented, and conducted safely.
TRATECH
The TRATech Committee organizes the Tripoli National Technical Convention, which features technical presentations, committee briefings, and member-led sessions on advanced rocketry topics. The program connects members with subject matter experts and organizational updates.
