TRA Technical Conference (TRATECH) 

TRATECH is the annual technical conference of the Tripoli Rocketry Association and continues to be one of the most practical in-person learning events in high-power rocketry. Held alongside LDRS, it gives flyers a focused setting to learn, exchange ideas, and build on their experience. Since 2021, TRATECH has grown steadily and remains an important part of Tripoli’s educational efforts.

For 2026, the TRATECH Technical Conference and Summit will take place during LDRS 44 in Pence, Indiana on the evenings of April 16 and 17. This is an in-person event only. It will not be live-streamed. These sessions are offered at no charge and are intended primarily for the flyers attending LDRS.

Presentations will be held in the evenings after the LDRS launches. Seating is free and first come, first served. We will make every reasonable effort to record the sessions and release the recordings later as time and quality allow. Many presenters will also provide slide decks for members to review.

Would you like to present at TRATECH?

 

This is your chance to share your expertise, highlight useful research or tools, connect with fellow high-power rocketry enthusiasts, and take part in the excitement of LDRS 44. We invite presentations on topics that advance the science, engineering, and experience of rocketry, including but not limited to:

• Airframe design and construction
• Electronics and avionics
• Flight simulations
• Motor design and propellant processing
• Static testing and data analysis
• Advanced materials and manufacturing techniques
• Recovery systems and innovations
• Club management and growth
• Website development for clubs and organizations
• Launch site discovery and FAA coordination
• Tripoli and high-power rocketry history
• Innovative or out-of-the-box rocketry-related topics

Presenter Submission Guidelines

 

If you are passionate about rocketry and have knowledge to share, we would like to hear from you. Please submit the following details to the TRATECH Committee:

• Presenter name and contact information (email and phone number)
• Presentation title and a 1–2 paragraph summary of your topic
• A short bio highlighting your rocketry experience and relevant background
• A photograph of yourself
• Submissions deadline: February 28, 2026

Don't want to present, but still want to help?

We are also looking for additional volunteers to help support the event. TRATECH benefits greatly from members who assist with room setup, AV support, and on-site recording, and these contributions make a real difference in the quality of the conference.
